Really? That's still pretty gross. Why not use the progression off the Duskblade? Yes, you need to add 5ths, but I would say "improved spellcasting" includes "better spells", not just "more of the same spells at a better CL".

Primarily because it's easier to do it this way and simply add new spells as 1st to 4th level spells, rather than having to create entirely new spell levels.

In theory, it could also reduce MAD somewhat by keeping the minimum required ability score at 14.

"Three quarters" implies to me something more like Bard or Mystic Ranger-style casting.

Still, it is an improvement.

Also, I was being conservative, considering that the Paladin and Ranger are probably not going to be trading very much (what do they have to trade in the first place?) in order to get this ACF.
